I will tell you in working with high school seniors for their senior photos, I have had the honor in meeting some pretty magnificant individuals and have enjoyed learning about them during their senior sessions with me. Quinn is no exception! I'd like for you all to meet Quinn, Class of 2017 soon-to-be graduate from St. Croix Lutheran High School!
This was a senior session I'll never forget! Quinn is a standout and as you learn more about him in this blog post, you will agree! His unique character is everything from confident, outgoing and adventurous, to creative, charming and smart - just to list a few. He doesn't miss a beat, and this is one young man that I truly believe is living life to it's fullest in every possible way!
I knew after the very first image that I took, that this was going to be a phenominal session with Quinn! He had his "Chuck Taylors" (that's Converse High Tops to those in my generation), and a few other "signature" apparel items that add to his unique personality. Be it sharks, his favorite hoodie, or even Deadpool--he had it covered!
Part of what made this session so much fun was Quinn's willingness to just be himself, and embrace the moment. By mid session, he had such a natural and genuine smile, and he seemed to really enjoy being in front of my lens. I concur, friend, I loved capturing those moments of you also! What a blast!
Quinn is a super fan of Deadpool, the Marvel Comics character. He and some of his friends would sometimes get together and make short films in costume and create their own cosplaying scenes. (forgive me if I stated that incorrectly!) So - it was only fitting that we found an alley way for his Deadpool character to come alive. So. AWESOME!!
We are in this super cool secluded alley way to grab a few pics of Quinn in character. This was the first time we were interupted by a security guard from the nearby parking ramp wanting to know what we were up to. "Why the hell are you wearing a costume?" asks the guard. Quinn, in his happy-go-lucky stature, says "High School Senior pictures!" It was quite the adventure, but a very fun moment in my photo career to capture these costume pics! Quinn was totally in character the entire time. It was great!
And lastly in the presentation of images from Quinn's senior session, is the "shark shirt" near the Mississippi River. This is another one of his favorite shirts to wear, and if you know Quinn, you'll agree with me when I say "Yep this is SO QUINN!"
Quinn, I love that you are not afraid of being who you are. It is an admirable quality to have! Thank you one million times over in spending the afternoon with me! You allowed for me to tap deeper into my own creativity to bring you my artistry to tell your story in the best way possible. We need more of you in this world to just embrace the moments we are given!
All the best to you as you start your new adventures at Iowa State University. Indeed you will be successful in whatever you do. You are a remarkable young man. Congratulations on your graduation from SCL!
