Hello, Sunshine!
It was a rather hot and humid summer in Minnesota, wouldn’t you agree? I say bring it. And Class of 2021 senior, Claire did just that.
Just a little back story: A handful of years ago, my son played baseball (you know, back when kids tried to juggle 3 different sports at once). And when your child is in sports, one of the greatest experiences we can have as parents - aside from watching them play the game they love, of course, is meeting new families of the other players! That is where I met Colleen and her family. Of those family members, there was one young little girl named Claire!
As we fast forward the clock to today…that little girl is just starting up her last year in high school as a senior at Shakopee High School. Meet Claire!
Earlier this summer, I opened a new studio location in my home town of South St. Paul, in the Grevas Building. Claire was my very first shoot ever at this new location, and we spent a hot and humid summer morning in my onsite back lot garden area. I was super excited to start up the senior season in a new space! Claire helped made that ease of transition to the new studio flawless. Take one peek at her images and you’ll see why!
Every senior girl gets a makeup application with a professional and licensed makeup artist for her senior session photos. The makeup artist comes right to my studio, armed with all of the eyeshadow pallets and lipstick shades a girl could ever ask for. I was thrilled that one of my favorite artists, Mollie with Esthetics by Mollie, was able to do Claire’s makeup for her session, complete with mask on for Covid!
Last week I had Claire and her mom back into my studio for their Premiere Reveal and Ordering appointment where they got to look at Claire’s images from her senior session. Claire was also one of the first seniors to hold her session reveal in my newly renovated studio sales area. (The sales room was nowhere NEAR completed when Claire was here for her senior session!) It was so exciting to be able to have her and her mom back in a relaxing environment to look at her senior images and preview my line of heirloom products like albums, and wall art.
Claire’s Experience:
Monda made me feel really comfortable from the start, I was able to tell her when I felt natural - not too posed, and when I wasn't. Her backyard studio was perfect, the waterfall, the flowers, the rocks. I truly had no idea what to expect but it was easy and truly a fun morning!
Both Claire and her mom had the kindest words to share about their experience with my studio.
With every senior session I do, I am always uber-appreciative to the families for entrusting me with their son or daughter to capture their senior portraits and tell their story.
Claire, I think you were thee perfect gal to kick off my senior season. Having you as my first official 2021 senior - in my new space - was a moment in history for me! You and mom made the trek out to my new space and I so appreciate you both for doing so. You were willing to get that gorgeous coral dress from FreePeople all wet in my waterfall at the end of your session. It was a really great experience for ME to be able to see and capture those images of you. You were a ray of sunshine and I adore you! Thank you so much for choosing me for your senior session experience! I cannot wait until your product order arrives!
For those reading this - I thank you for being part of my world and taking a glimpse into a high school senior session with my studio! Claire will go down in Mondafoto history as the “first” session at my new studio space location in my hometown. I’m blessed.
